Washington, D.C. – Today, Liz Wester, All On The Line’s Director of Advocacy and Campaign Manager, released the following statement in response to the Texas Senate passing a map that is identical to the gerrymandered state Senate map enacted during the 2021-2022 redistricting cycle:

“Texas Senate Republicans had an opportunity to redraw the state Senate map to actually reflect the Lone Star state’s increasingly diverse population and the state’s increasingly competitive nature, and yet they passed a map that is identical to the gerrymandered map that is currently in place. Not one line changed in this map from before. By again refusing to draw a map that reflects the will of the people, Texas Republicans have once more demonstrated that their interests only lie in maximizing their own artificial political power.”
