Texas
Texas has the distinction of being one of the most gerrymandered states in the country. As a result, hard working Texas families have less economic security and poorer health outcomes than so many of our fellow Americans. The Texas Legislature has the power to address our challenges but, because of hyperpartisan gerrymandering, they do not have the will.
Governor Ann Richards famously said, “Today we have a vision of a Texas where opportunity knows no race, no gender, no color—a glimpse of what can happen in government if we simply open the doors and let the people in.”
Well, Texas! It’s time to let the people back in. Redistristricting is going to happen in Texas, and we’re going to need your help to ensure that people, not politicians are calling the shots in Austin.
