AOTL: New Colorado Congressional District Should Be
Drawn in the Front Range Urban Corridor  

A District In the Front Range Urban Corridor Allows for Fair Representation

Today, the Census Bureau released apportionment data based on the 2020 census count that determines the number of seats each state in the country has in the United States House of Representatives. Based on this new data, Colorado will now have eight congressional members, an increase of one seat over the past decade. The people of Colorado deserve a map that gives them an opportunity to elect congressional representatives that fairly represent the growing and diverse population in every corner of the state. 

“All On The Line strongly believes that Colorado’s new congressional district should be located in the Front Range Urban Corridor,” said Marco Dorado, Colorado All On The Line State Director. “Due to Colorado’s rapidly growing population, a new district in the Front Range Urban Corridor would provide fair representation to the state’s various communities of interest. Colorado’s Independent Congressional Redistricting Commission must draw a map that is fair and representative of the changes over the last decade. That means drawing a map that creates a new district that reflects the growing and diverse composition of the state, specifically along the Front Range.”  

“With the redistricting process getting started, All On The Line will do everything in our power to ensure that there is a fair and transparent process that maximizes public participation,” continued Dorado.
